Application Procedures & Priority Dates

There are many steps involved with applying to a university. At William Jessup University, each step is intended to assist us with making a sound and informed decision. Your role is to be thorough, on time, and complete. The following steps are what is necessary and what constitutes a complete file:

Submit Application

Submit the application (Online Version or Paper Version) and the $35 non-refundable application fee.

NOTE: For the online application version, the essay response is a fill-in text box. For the paper application version, the essay response should be written separately, then attached and mailed with the completed application.

Submit SAT/ACT Results

Submit SAT/ACT results (SAT is the combined score of the Critical Reading and Math sections, only.)

  • Transfers must submit SAT/ACT results if they have completed less than 24 academically solid transferable semester units at the time of application.

Submit Official Transcripts

Submit OFFICIAL transcripts of work completed through the most recent term

  • Seniors – through the end of the Junior year or the end of the first semester of the Senior year, depending upon when applying;
  • Transfers- Final high school transcripts and college through the most recent semester.

Submit Recommendations

Submit Essay Response

Essay Response: Personal Letter of Introduction (500 word minimum)

Write a letter of recommendation about yourself to William Jessup University, including comments regarding your academic preparation and experience, services to your community, why you are applying to WJU and a statement of personal faith. Be sure to include in your letter, responses to the following two questions:

  • What benefits do you personally expect from attending a Christian university, particularly William Jessup and
  • What contributions do you hope to make to enrich the University community?

Once Your File is Complete

Once the above steps are done, your file is considered complete. A preliminary file evaluation will take place by one of our admission counselors. If necessary, we will contact you for more information to gain further perspective. Otherwise, your file will go to the Director of Admission for decision.

December 15 (postmarked)

Notifications will go out on a rolling basis and continue until our class is full.

A $250 confirmation deposit AND either a Housing Card (if requesting residence hall living) OR an Application for Commuter Status are due postmarked by June 1, at which time the deposit becomes non-refundable in accordance with the NACAC Statement of Principles of Good Practice.
